E32 – Formerly homeless human Brett Swayn was born in Perth, Australia. He dreamt of being a famous performing songwriter and ended up following that dream to California. Sometimes dreams take detours and Brett ended up homeless in Nashville, Tennessee. After months of being homeless, he was given a new chance at life when the restaurant Flemings hired him in their kitchen. From there he worked his way to becoming a chef and now is the chef and owner of The Cookery. It’s not just any restaurant. The Cookery provides training and employment to the homeless of Nashville. Brett has seen over thirty of his students (once homeless) graduate as chefs. (1:10:59)
