E435 Alex Brito has Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD), a rare condition that targets the central nervous system. It can cause vision loss, chronic pain, and paralysis. Despite challenges—including an initial misdiagnosis, blindness and temporary paralysis, Alex helps others with disabilities and teaches adaptive technology to those with vision loss. She’s also the first blind woman to earn a yellow belt in Krav Maga!
